Our last Online Auction in 2011 along with the Ball in Suffolk raised an impressive £248,000 in just two weeks, for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
This year we’re back and setting the bar even higher, with a goal of raising £1 million for worthy causes.
In 2011, “money-can’t-buy” online auction lots were donated by Sports Stars, Sporting Bodies, Celebrities, Companies and Individuals from around the world.
They included Sir Alex Ferguson, Josep ‘Pep’ Guardiola, Andre Villas Boas, Alan Pardew, Arsene Wenger, Lewis Hamilton, Gary Lineker, Graeme Swann, David Beckham, Ant and Dec and more.
Some of the star prizes were Jose Mourinho’s FIFA Ballon D’Or 2010 World Coach of the Year Award Trophy, donated by the man himself, along with FC Barcelona donating two prizes to watch them training, meet the players, receive a signed shirt and being VIP guests at Camp Nou.
Other auction prizes included attending an England training session as a personal guest of The Manager and receiving a signed England 2012 football shirt, VIP experience at the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards, a morning on Newmarket Heath with horse trainer, Sir Michael Stoute, followed by Breakfast at Sir Michael’s home, A day with the Red Arrows, plus 180 others from around the world.
This year, the auction lots are bigger and better and there are three ways you can get involved to help us reach our £1 million goal:
Each and every donation will bring us one step closer to reaching our £1 million goal.
The money raised will go towards supporting clinical trials for new cancer treatments, ongoing support of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, as well as two Suffolk hospitals, close to hearts of the Robson family.
The Online Auction and the Ball in Suffolk are magnificent platforms that allow anybody who wants to, to become involved. Helping us raise crucial funds for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and two Suffolk hospitals. All such very worthy causes close to my heart.
We have been overwhelmed by the global support and want to encourage companies and individuals to again get involved with our very special Online Auction and Ball in Suffolk, by generously becoming an Online Auction prize donor or by bidding for one of the “Money-Can’t-Buy” prizes – it really will make the biggest difference in helping us to create, what we think will be one of the most exciting fund raisers of 2013.
This year’s Online Auction will be a wonderful testament to the memory of a truly wonderful man, the legendary Sir Bobby Robson.
We have set ourselves a goal of £1,000,000 which would go a long way in helping support the charities that do an awful amount of good work.
I encourage you to consider becoming involved.
This Online Auction and the Ball in Suffolk, are a great way of reminding people of the way he made Ipswich into one of the best teams in Europe, while raising money for a good cause.
There is much more to be done but with the public’s support we can achieve a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
Sir Bobby was a great friend of mine and I know he would be extremely proud that the charity work, he was so committed to, is continuing in his name. I am sure Sir Bobby’s Breakthrough Online Auction and the Ball in Suffolk will be a great success and I would urge everyone to give generously to support this worthy cause.
